The amount of mercury contained in each vaccine is shown in the far right column. The symbol "µg" means micrograms. Before some vaccine makers began voluntarily reducing Thimerosal at the request of the government, 25µg per milliliter was the full, common dose. For DT vaccine, for instance, you'll see on the chart below that Aventis makes two types, one of which contains only a fraction of a microgram of Thimerosal-but only when it is packaged in a single-dose vial. If it comes in a multi-dose vial, it contains the full 25µg per dose, as does a second Aventis DT vaccine regardless of how it is packaged. |
