Hosted by WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 Action News co-anchors Diana Lewis and Stephen Clark, the program will include live reports from Action News Morning co-anchors Erik Smith and Carolyn Clifford. Action News reporter Kimberly Craig will also provide live coverage of the many activities and entertainment-taking place throughout the evening.
In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, which will air live, exclusively on WXYZ-TV, the program also includes ice skating performances by Detroit’s own Olympic figure skating champions. The live program will also feature musical entertainment from Detroit’s top singers including, Karen Newman and LaShell Griffin and include interviews with key community leaders including Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and Detroit 300 Conservancy Chairman Edsel Ford II.
